Christine is my wife. She has worked for many years at Westlands Community Primary School as a Reception ( age 4 - 5 ) teacher and now teaches Year 1. She was School Assessment Leader for some years and, in addition, held responsibility for several subject areas. As SAL (School Assessment Leader), she was responsible for Westlands use of Target Tracker, Essex County Council's IT system for tracking assessment results. This included being a leading pilot school for a specialist Early Years version of the software using PDAs.

We met while at Warwick University.

Christine uses many resources while teaching - one is "Little Bear", a travelling teddy bear who goes home with the children to encourage them to write in his diary. He also has his own website to introduce them to the internet & e-mail! Another is Sophie Bear - she's Little Bear's special friend who helps teach the children. Over the years, Sophie Bear's website has grown to take on a life of it's own. While it's development has been somewhat slowed by the arrival of Little Mr and Little Miss Keen, we hope it's still a useful resource in it's own right.
